Here is a new series that I am excited to introduce today. I'll be talking about how to create and live a Next Level life. Today I'm sharing three ways to get going:
Seems simple right? But getting started can often be the hardest part. A good first step is to start with doing the things that you already know how to do. For example, if your goal is to get to a healthy weight how would you begin? It's common knowledge that in order to lose weight you must eat healthier and exercise. Small changes like drinking more water or taking 20 minute walks can be a great start! Begin with what you know. The most important part is that you start.
An object at rest will remain at rest unless acted upon by a force. This is as true in life as it is in physics. Once you apply the energy needed to get started, it is much easier to keep going. Which brings us to the next step.
Leadership speaker and blogger Dan Rockwell once said, "Momentum is a series of successful endings not beginnings..Momentum begins with successful endings, but requires next steps. Momentum cools when you stop moving forward." The best thing you can do is to keep moving--keep pushing forward. As long as you are getting the "small" wins you will eventually win the big battle.

It goes against our basic instincts as humans to put ourselves in uncomfortable situations, we have fight or flight instincts engrained in our DNA. But nothing great was ever accomplished by someone sitting quietly in their comfort zone. In order to reach your goals you must be willing to go where you've never been and do what you've never done. Break the mold and enable growth. When faced with an uncomfortable situation, FIGHT your way through and embrace the change you will experience.
